its simple......hes a scumbag
he saw that the giants were headed down.......so he says hes going to "retire for health reasons"
the giants started to [censored] the bed........and a couple years later he was back........i guess his these "health problems" werent the reason he "retired" from the giants
more like.......he knew the team was going to fall apart and he wanted to go out a winner
